About Us

Over 60 years looking after
Lockleys families.

From first teeth to full-mouth restorations, our team can handle it all in one place. No referrals. No driving across town. Just trusted dental care, right here on Henley Beach Road.

Our story

A practice with deep roots
in the western suburbs

Lockleys Dental Clinic has been part of the western Adelaide community for over six decades. Over the years we've looked after generations of the same families: the parents who brought their kids in, and the kids who now bring their own.

What makes Lockleys Dental Clinic different is the team. Between Dr Katherine Rao, Dr Alex Furlan, and Dr Katherine Fang, the practice has the scope to handle complex cases in-house (implants, wisdom teeth, root canals) so patients rarely need to be referred elsewhere. Nitrous oxide is available in-house, with IV sedation and general anaesthetic at an external facility. The relationships, the continuity, and the familiar faces have always been at the heart of it.

We're a two-chair practice. That's intentional. It means you're not a number in a big-box clinic. You see the same dentist each visit, your dentist knows your history, and we have time to get things right.

Dr Alex Furlan

BDS, University of Adelaide, 2020 · PG Dip Implantology (completing)

Dr Alex Furlan graduated in 2020 and quickly pursued advanced training in implant dentistry, and is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Implantology. He places implants, performs surgical extractions, and handles complex cases that many general practices would refer out, making dental treatment accessible to patients who experience significant anxiety or who need complex work done comfortably.

His expertise means patients who previously needed hospital referrals for implants or wisdom teeth extractions can now be treated right here at the practice.

Our technology

The tools we use
to care for you better

Modern equipment isn't about impressing patients. It's about more accurate diagnoses, more comfortable visits, and better long-term outcomes.

CEREC PrimeScan

Optical scanning technology that captures precise 3D impressions of your teeth, with no uncomfortable putty trays. Cleaner data means better-fitting crowns and restorations.

EMS AirFlow Therapy

A gentle, minimally abrasive cleaning system that removes staining, plaque, and biofilm more comfortably than traditional scaling. Particularly effective for patients with sensitive gums or orthodontic appliances.

Digital X-Rays

Digital radiography delivers detailed images with significantly reduced radiation exposure compared to traditional film. Images are immediately available on-screen, making it easier to walk through findings with you during your appointment.

In-house implants & complex care

We perform implants, All-on-4, wisdom teeth, and root canals at the practice. Nitrous oxide is available in-house, with IV sedation and general anaesthetic at an external facility. For many patients this means faster treatment timelines and the comfort of being cared for by a team you already know.

Our approach

How we care for patients

1

We listen first

Every appointment starts with a conversation. We want to understand what's worrying you, what your goals are, and whether you have any anxiety about treatment before we pick up a single instrument.

2

Honesty and integrity

We don't recommend treatment you don't need. We give you honest advice, transparent pricing, and straightforward options, even when that means telling you to wait and watch rather than treat right away.

3

We show you what we see

We put photos and X-rays up on the screen so you can see exactly what we're seeing. When you can see the crack, the decay, or the healthy tooth yourself, the conversation changes, and you make better decisions about your own care.

4

We keep it in-house

Most cases, including implants, wisdom teeth, and root canals, can be handled right here, with nitrous oxide available in-house and IV sedation at an external facility. That means fewer appointments, fewer practices to navigate, and continuity of care with a team that knows your history.
